Family Movie Night at the Marina for an evening of fun, community, and meaningful impact! FAM (Foster. Adopt. Mentor.) is a program of the Washoe County Human Services Agency that connects children and youth with safe, loving, and supportive adults through fostering, adoption, and mentoring. Volunteers will help create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience by assisting with event setup, greeting and directing families, supporting activity areas, answering general questions, and helping with cleanup after the movie. Your time will support local children and families while helping raise awareness about the life-changing impact of providing a child with stability, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

Help Animal Ark refresh its facilities by painting several buildings, including the Visitor Center and the animal meal-preparation building. Volunteers will help create a clean, welcoming environment for guests while supporting the team that cares for the animals.

Volunteers will rotate through a variety of projects based on the shelter's needs that day, giving everyone the opportunity to serve in different areas. Projects may include laundry, dishes, sanitizing crates and kennels, packing food for the Pet Pantry Program, logging and sorting donations, welcoming community members, assisting potential adopters with directions and general questions, and helping maintain clean and welcoming public spaces. Additional projects may be available depending on the shelter's needs, staffing, and timing. Younger volunteers may be given age-appropriate activities, such as reading to dogs and cats through their kennels with no direct animal interaction. Please note: Volunteers under age 15 must have a parent, guardian, or chaperone present.
