Volunteers will support the Food Bank's daily operations by assisting with a variety of projects that help ensure nutritious food reaches those who need it most. Projects may include sorting and packing food donations, assembling food boxes for seniors, and other warehouse tasks based on the organization's needs that day. Every task plays an important role in helping fight hunger in our community.

Put the finishing touches on the barn! Volunteers will complete general repairs, replace boards, repair stall gates and fencing, work on trim, and paint the barn’s interior and exterior. No expert skills are required—just come ready to work, serve, and help put the barn back together.

Help put the barn back together and prepare it for winter! Volunteers will move equipment, clean and organize supplies, complete final touch-ups, return tools, sweep, remove trash, and clean the grounds. The team will also organize the Stable Moments Team Room, including craft supplies, games, winter clothing, and grooming kits. Light lifting may be required.

Family Movie Night at the Marina for an evening of fun, community, and meaningful impact! FAM (Foster. Adopt. Mentor.) is a program of the Washoe County Human Services Agency that connects children and youth with safe, loving, and supportive adults through fostering, adoption, and mentoring. Volunteers will help create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience by assisting with event setup, greeting and directing families, supporting activity areas, answering general questions, and helping with cleanup after the movie. Your time will support local children and families while helping raise awareness about the life-changing impact of providing a child with stability, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

Beautify the grounds at Our Place, a 15-acre campus serving women and families in our community. Volunteers will remove trash throughout the property, clean and rake walking paths, pull weeds from pathways and rock beds, and clear cobwebs from building entrances and windows.

Spend time serving alongside Soulful Seeds in their community garden! Volunteers will assist with weeding, harvesting, composting, trash collection, and other seasonal garden maintenance.

Get the barn ready for winter! Volunteers will clean and clear stalls, power wash, make carpentry and roof repairs, move equipment, complete trim work, and prepare surfaces for painting. This project is ideal for handy volunteers, DIYers, and anyone comfortable with lifting and getting a little dirty.

Serve a local senior by making their property safer and more accessible. Volunteers will trim overgrown juniper bushes, clear the walkway to the front door for Meals on Wheels deliveries, and haul away branches, weeds, and foliage. Please bring pruning and trimming tools.
