Grace Kids Director
Position Summary:
The Grace Kids Director leads and executes the vision of Grace Church for Grace Kids, creating environments where kids can see, know, and live like Jesus. This role ensures that every Grace Kids environment reflects the DNA, mission, and values of Grace Church, while equipping volunteers and partnering with families to disciple the next generation.

Core Responsibilities

1. Lead the Grace Kids Vision and Strategy

Champion the vision for Grace Kids, ensuring every classroom and environment reflects the mission and values of Grace Church.

Oversee all Grace Kids programming ensuring children engage with Scripture in ways that are clear, engaging, and centered on Jesus.

Implement and oversee curriculum strategies, including:
-
PreK: Bible App for Kids Curriculum
-
Kindergarten–PreTeen: Amazing Life Curriculum (formerly Orange)

Ensure large group and classroom discussions are engaging, age-appropriate, biblically sound, and centered on the gospel.

Evaluate and improve ministry environments regularly to ensure they remain effective and engaging.

Partner with church leadership to ensure Grace Kids aligns with the overall mission and direction of Grace Church.
2. Develop, Train, and Lead Healthy Volunteer Teams

Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteers serving in Grace Kids environments.

Build and sustain healthy volunteer teams by fostering a culture of encouragement, ownership, and spiritual growth.

Create clear systems for volunteer onboarding, scheduling, communication, and follow-up.

Empower key leaders to take ownership of their ministry environments while maintaining excellence and consistency across the ministry.

Cultivate leadership pipelines that develop volunteers into team leaders and coaches.

Foster a team culture that thrives in collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
3. Create Excellent and Safe Environments
-
Oversee Sunday morning preparation and readiness of all Grace Kids environments.
-
Ensure every classroom is safe, welcoming, well-prepared, and organized.
-
Maintain and enforce safety systems including check-in procedures, volunteer screening, and child protection policies.

Coordinate childcare and programming for special events and church-wide initiatives.

Partner with other ministry teams to ensure Grace Kids environments remain safe, clean, and well supported.

Maintain systems that prioritize child safety, volunteer support, and family trust.
4. Partner with Parents and Families

Communicate consistently and clearly with parents through ministry updates and church communication channels.

Equip parents with tools, encouragement, and resources to disciple their children at home.

Support families through key spiritual milestones such as salvation conversations, baptisms, and child dedication.

Help create a ministry culture where families feel known, supported, and connected to the church community.
5. Strengthen Systems and Administrative Health

Track and report weekly attendance and volunteer engagement.

Maintain strong administrative systems for curriculum preparation, volunteer scheduling, and ministry communication.

Develop clear processes that support ministry consistency and operational excellence.

Plan and execute ministry events that prioritize safety, accessibility, and thoughtful care for children of all abilities and backgrounds.

Steward the Grace Kids budget with wisdom, integrity, and biblical stewardship.

Ensure ministry systems support healthy growth and sustainable leadership development.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

5+ years of experience in children’s ministry leadership
-
Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteer teams
-
Experience developing leaders and building healthy ministry systems
-
Strong organizational and leadership skills in a ministry environment
-
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-staff church team
-
Alignment with the mission, vision, and theological values of Grace Church
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s degree in ministry, child development, education, or a related field preferred.

Experience serving in a growing or multi-staff church environment
-
Experience overseeing or developing large volunteer teams
