to learn about Jesus and be in community with others!
|1.||Every student should have the opportunity to learn about Jesus! If that means adapting the curriculum, let’s do it!||2.||Every parent should have the time to learn about Jesus with the peace of mind that their child is safe and welcomed!||3.||Our goal is to build an atmosphere that appreciates and accepts those with disabilities!|
The Buddy Program
The Buddy Program is a way to provide individualized support for students with special needs during Sunday services. Often times students with special needs are unable to comprehend the curriculum that is taught at Sunday School. Therefore, our buddies work towards providing that support for every student based upon their individual needs.
You and Your Family Matter!
This is why we work towards pairing up your student with the buddy that is going to be the best fit for your family. We tell all our families and buddies that if something is not working out, let’s make a change to make sure everyone is comfortable and feels safe.
Family Support Group
Although you love your child with special needs, it can be draining on a family. That is why we have developed a Special Needs Family Support Group. The group is faith-based; however, all are welcome!
When and Where?
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the Family Center at Grace Church.
Child-care is provided. However, please contact Megan Meaney to RSVP ahead of time.
If this is your first time attending the family support group, please arrive between 6 and 6:20 to discuss your student’s specific needs and what it will take for you to feel safe leaving the room.
Our goal is inclusion, but we understand that some students often need a safe space when it gets loud or there are too many people.
Our sensory room is one way that we work towards providing this respite for students.
