I Love Technology

One of my passions in life is golf. Last year I bought a Ping G30 driver. It replaced my Ping G5 driver. Basically, I skipped 5 generations of Ping Drivers. I didn’t change my swing, my stance, how high I tee the ball or anything else. By upgrading my driver and taking advantage of the latest technology I added 25 yards to my drive! Now I know what some of you are thinking, “Big deal.” Well, when you play with guys who hit it 275 it is a big deal!

Joining the Team

A few months ago I was asked to lead the Prayer Team at Grace. My first thought was my personal prayer life was not what I wanted it to be. As I began meeting with people whose prayer life was much different than mine I discovered a void that wasn’t being filled as God intended it to be. We started having prayer gatherings to cast a vision for the team. We would pray for a couple of hours that seemed like minutes. I would leave those meetings feeling completely refreshed and reenergized to love God and love people! It was almost bittersweet. My new found desire to pray was reminding me of my less than stellar prayer life that existed only a few months ago. Oh, how the enemy likes to remind us of our past!

Psalm 139:23-24 says “Search me O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Now when I read passages like that, instead of seeing it as David talking to God I think of them as my personal prayer to Him for direction and wisdom!

Open House

One of the cool things that came out of our gatherings was to start an Open House Prayer time at Grace. Every Wednesday, from 5-6pm in the Gallery (located underneath the bleachers in the Worship Center) there will be a team people who would love to pray with you. Spread the word!

Now that I have a new outlook on prayer one of my first steps to help me be more consistent was to download the Echo Prayer App to my iPhone. I can keep track of prayer requests, share requests with others! Best of all, I set up reminders on my phone to stop and pray throughout the day! I love technology.

  1. Thanks for all you do Rick! Prayer is a viable component to a healthy relationship with our Father♥️
Its amazing the growth we have in our walk with God when we communicate with Him. He hears us. He loves us. He values US. God is so good and faithful.
